Facility

River Oaks Care Center Photo River Oaks Care Center opened in April 1975.  The small community of Steele, Missouri in Pemiscot County sought to provide long-term care for loved ones in a facility close enough for frequent visits.  It’s exciting to see that the vision and mission of River Oaks is the same today as it was when the facility first opened.

River Oaks is a 90-bed, Medicare and Medicaid Certified Skilled Nursing Facility, that provides 24-hour care to our residents.  It is important to us for all our residents needs, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual, to be met.  Comprehensive care plans help identify those needs and aid the management team in developing treatment goals for residents.  Our professional staff is qualified to provide skilled services for rehab to home short stays and on a long-term basis, as well.  The facility is proud to offer a top-notch therapy department.  Physical, occupational and speech therapists are available for assessment of residents’ needs and implement a thorough plan to optimize residents’ healing.  Upon completion of their therapy regimen, long-term care residents are discharged to a restorative plan.  The restorative aid ensures continued success with resident’s physical needs. Some of our favorite stories are those rehab to home residents who return to visit and show off their success.  We have relationships with many home care groups and can find the right fit for those short-term stay residents.

River Oaks offers a variety of resident room options.  Private rooms, companion rooms, and hospice or respite stay rooms are available. Whatever the need may be, the solution can be found at River Oaks.

We accept private pay, Medicare, Medicaid, most insurance carriers and admissions accepted 24 hours per day.

River Oaks is a member of the Missouri Health Care Association.
